Need help identifying my distributor.
I thought this was a td63u but the plug is different than the ones I have found for sale. It is off of a 99 civic si.
Could someone tell me which one I have. All it says on it is PP-T Tec.
Here are a couple pics:
Thanks!

Look up your part numbers here: http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...artsSearch.jsp
Is your motor stock?

Re: Need help identifying my distributor.
Okay thanks! The motor is stock, it's the B16a2.
I would like to be able to purchase something like this instead of piecing together a new cap, rotor button, and ignition coil.

However, I'm still not 100% sure which one I would need.

I still can't seem to find a distributor with that connection on it. Could someone tell me where on the distributor to look for a part number because I can't find one of those either.

All Honda/acura and aftermarket dizzy's have either a stamping or sticker with the part number....
it should with TD-__
Then google it, your answer will come up instantly

There is not sticker on there, maybe it has peeled off over time. Is there anyplace else I can look to find the part number?
Thanks
Thanks

Check on the mounting points (where you put the bolts to go into the head) on the side of them. You will have to lightly sand them most likely to find it, but it should be on one of them.

Hey Thanks,
Now I'm confused. I took it to a local auto parts store and the connection is for a TD80-U.
However, it says that those were only for non vtec engines. Is it possible that my 99 civic si came factory with a td80-u dizzy? I bought the car from the original owner and he made very few changes to the car.

Re: Need help identifying my distributor.
oem dizzy for 99 SI is TD-81U. the connector has nothing to do with the TD#. the connectors changed for obd1 vs obd2. You can use any obd2 b-series vtec dizzy w/ the 9 pin plug. as you can see in this pic, your dizzy looks just like the obd2 "big plug"
don't buy from the ebay link you posted. thats a "small plug" dizzy for SOHC civics.
go here if you need a new dizzy
http://www.rywire.com/catalog/produc...products_id=57
or tell us the problem and we can troubleshoot. there really should never be a need for a new dizzy unless the internal oil seal is bad or you are getting a CEL for crank position

Re: Need help identifying my distributor.
Thanks Dpetro1! I have done a little research and I think it's the dizzy. The car starting having a fairly sporadic idle (fluctuating about 400rpm's). Then it started to misfire and not much later, it wouldn't start anymore. The plugs smell like fuel too.
Does that sound like it's the dizzy?

Re: Need help identifying my distributor.
there are multiple parts to a dizzy. could be as simple as cap and rotor or could be the igniter or coil. here's a great link on ignition troubleshooting
