Ebay, H-t Marketplace.
OP:
A cam won't do you much good without cam gears, valve/retainers to match it.
It's kind of like playing football by yourself.
For more power with a y7, i would just get a y8 intake manifold and the intake of your choice.

yea i got it off ebay, its a good place to find stuff but i wouldnt trust getting a motor off there. but there was a Z6 intake mani or at least thats wat the guy told me. i have a y8 motor sittin in the barn so ill just take the intake manifold from that and put it on. but on the cam gear does any one have a ideas of where i might set it at?

Re: d16y7 cam question (madpipr)
Dont waste your money on a cam for this motor. I had the same problem, you did but I took a different approach. I added a Y8 Intake manifold and Si/EX transmission. It changed the dynamics of the car completely (96 CX). It had a lot more top end power (until 117 - fuel cut) and with a better gear ratio acceleration improved. Go this route and you will NOT be dissapointed.

Re: d16y7 cam question (EK-Chris)
I put an ex intake manifold on my car and a cool air intake. I was surprised at how much they helped. I did have a little trouble at first because I got a 2000 ex intake manifold with air injection. I had to JB weld the extra holes to stop the vacuum leak. The car was idling at 3000! Right now I am helping my friend with putting together a turbo for his del sol.
