D16 stage 1 finished!!!
I just wanted to say allmotor D16s are very nice and to keep it technical ill include my setup and some Q?
ZC (SOHC) block stock
D16Z6 head ported and milled 0.020"
Z6 IM match ported
60mm TB
3inch short ram (might do a custom stock airbox setup)
No name header cut on the bottom and mated to a 2.25inch custom crush bent exhaust (I used a portion of an accord axleback so at the end its mandrel bent but the 2 narrow curves are crush bent)
B&M fuel press reg
NGK BKR6e at 1.1mm
crower cam gear
lightened stock flywheel
My first problem is cam tuning. The A6/Z6 combo means 5degrees needed be retarded for a 0degree base, then the milled head means 2degrees needed be advanced. Total I should retard my cam gear 3degrees and I should have 0degrees of cam timing but I tried it and it feels advance (no top end). Now I have almost 5 degrees retad and I still feel a little loss in top end but maybe vtec isnt engaging so Ill try a new selenoid (im getting cel 22 sometimes).
My second problem is fueling. I have the B&M regulator almost fully tightened and still when I check cylinder 3 the plug is a bit white. Should I try larger injectors or a new fuel pump (I have a stock new oem one). (dont ask me at how many psi is the fuel press cause I dont have a gauge)
thanks in advance
