i just put a d16 mini me in my dx hatchback 1992 and theres a thing where the wire should go on the starter i believe from the wiring harness its got black all around it and then just a little metal clip for a wire is that just a ground i bought a wiring harness and there is nothing to put on the clip for the starter is it just a ground i could just hook up to the chassis or what please help thanks

OK on the bottom image there is a gold peice. On the end of the gold peice to the left there is a little metal peice sticking out of an oval shaped plastic peice. what is this for ?????????????????
