Default D16 performance

Im looking to do internal stuff to my engine i have a 97 civic with a D16Y5 vtec im looking at getting a vtec controller i have a aem v2 air intake system, and im going to buy a skunk 2 throttle body and skunk 2 intake manifold. what ecu should i get?, i want to port my head but i want my car to be a daily driver and not mess up my idol im new to engines and i want to make this car quick and still make it a daily driver. i want to get a skunk 2 stage 1 racing cam. i dont know if i should get bigger injectors and where would i get my head ported and stuff like that and how big or whatever...anyone please comment i need help thanx

okay first off, dont buy a vtec controller, waste of money, i would save your money and turbo it, you'll be much happier with it turboed and there is much more room for more power.

Why do you say don't buy a vtec controller? Major gains can be realized with an NA engine with internals if you get it dyno tuned..........

I'm not sure how much internal parts there are for the d16y5, your car is an hx right? I think the design of the head is different than the y8 one. Pretty sure that the vtec system in the y5 was built for fuel economy instead of performance......... someone correct me if im wrong. You might need to swap your head out with a y8 one if you want to build it.

I would recommend a crower stage 1 instead of skunk2, I don't trust them that much........
