d15b7/z6 mini me timing
so i looked and couldnt find a definite answer. I need to know how to set cam timing when you use a Y7/8 cam gear on a z6 head on b7 block? I dont have the cover that has the 7 o clock pointer mark. do I just set the Y7/8 cam gear with "UP" in the 12 o'clock position?

Re: d15b7/z6 mini me timing
dont know much about mini me stuff, but when i do mechanical timing on SOHCs, i make sure the 2 horizontal marks on the cam gear are level with the cylinder head.
like in this picture:
The 9oclock and 3oclock are even with the deck of the head. if this is lined up, then u can assume that the "7oclock" is lined up too!
good luck hope u find the answer. hawaii bump.

Well I didn't use a y7 cam gear, but it was a real pain in the *** as I recall. Just ensure that the two horizontal notches are even with the deck and UP is positioned at TDC. The biggest problem I had was with the timing belt. Good luck
