Default D15B7 running lean

Hi there,

i swapped out the original engine and transmission after finding a crack in the block due to it overheating with no coolant in the system (brothers first car). After overheating the car, the idle was absolute crap. I purchased a newer engine with only 140,000km and the tranny with 70,000km. Dropped the engine and tranny back into place, Timing belt was checked and still had lots of life left. Fired her up and there was no smoke what so ever engine runs great.

However there was still a CEL code. it pulled up an o2 sensor code. After fine tuning things around (ignition timing, valve timing) the idle improved but only by a little bit.

The vehicle drives great and shifts smoothly however during Idle, it hesitates a lot like it wants to stall. Which leads me to believe that the engine is running lean due to either a o2 sensor problem or a problem with the ECU. Where should i look first? replacing a ecu or replacing an o2 sensor on the exhaust manifold.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Info on car:
1993 honda civic DX coupe
Automatic
D15B7 engine with P06 ECU(i believe it is)

thanks

tony

check the codes and go from there. if the o2 is bad, change it. I suggest you changed the fuel filter as well.
