D15B7 Rod Bearing Replacement
What exactly is involved? Will I have to unbolt the crankshaft to get to them? I want to replace them with the motor in the car and I really don't want to go through the hassle of removing a ton of stuff to get to them. I just need the engine to last me until I do my swap, since it is my DD for now.

Re: D15B7 Rod Bearing Replacement (Luserkid)
Damn. That sucks. Would it be any easier if I had a lift available? I work at a dealership so yeah...

It can be done without removing the crankshaft, the trade off is that pretty much the rest of the engine will need to be taken apart. Remove the head, remove the oil pan, unbolt which ever rod you need to remove, remove rod cap from bottom, tap piston out through the top, replace bearings (if you're slick enough, you can replace the bearing without tapping the piston out of the block).
There's more steps involved than that but that's the basic concept.
