Re: HELP: D15B7 WEIRD "TICKING" NOISE
probobly just noisy lifters. a lot of hondas sound like that...
Trying to help a friend and figure out if thats a regular noise or something is wrong with it..... it sounds like if its ticking... i would not know if its regular sound. thats a problem
another problem is when its warmed up it stays at 1500 rpm and sometimes goes back to 700rpm and while its on 700rpm and you step on the gas it goes back up to 1500 rpm and stays... idk
If someone could help it would be cool!

Re: HELP: D15B7 WEIRD "TICKING" NOISE
D15B7's are just rattle-tappy engines I think. Prolly rocker assy or piston slap. I remember reading that the D engine's bore/stroke design pushes the pistons against the cylinder wall hard as it runs resulting in inevitable piston slap. B engines are designed better in that regard.
They tend to take a beating until the headgasket lets go.

Mine are like that. Original @250K miles and replacement with 130K on it.HG will be what kills it, unless, you never overheat.
