ok so i have a 97 civic and when i turn on my ac the compressor makes a noise. the noise will go away for a while but will come back for a few sec while driving down the road. i can feel the car studder a little when it makes the noise. the ac works great besides the noise. what im wondering is if its my compressor going out. any help would be great. thanks.

Did you recently recharge the system with refrigerant? Does the condenser fan run when the A/C is turned on? More background information would help.

i havent done anything to the ac system. everything works and turns on when i turn the ac on. its kind of a squel but its not the belt. the car feels like it bogs a little when the noise happens.
