I have a 95 Civic DX with a blown D15B7 -102 hp non-vtec- (standard DX motor) motor in it. I have a shop that will swap a D16Z6 -125 hp sohc vtec- (standard EX motor) into the DX. When they swap the motor they are also going to swap out the tranny, and axels.

My question is, is there anything else that is going to need to be swapped out?

Both ECUs are OBD 1. However, the DX has a P08 ECU in it and the EX comes with a P28 ECU in it. If I want to take andvantage of the Vtech in the new motor will I need to swap out the ecu? I read some of guides on mini-me swaps, and even though thats not what I am doing, the guides didn't say anything about swaping out the ecu.

Any input would be great.

Yeah of course, The P28 also has a different map for fuel and ignition. I ran my d16z6 with a DX ecu for while until I got hold of my p28 and I can tell you it was a whole lot better then having a DX ecu. But to answer your question, Definately, you should swap to a P28.

VTEC, not Vtech... Unless you are swapping in some kind of phone or home electronic device.

i'd personally go ahead and swap out ecu's too, i played around and put the p08 in my car and i could tell a lack in power and it ran a little shittier than the p28

it will run on the p08, but you will not have vtec... you need a p28, and you'll need to wire vtec in.
