Default D15B2 turbo need advice?

I have a 92 civic HB. I am going to buy a D15B2. I will be using a y7 head because i want to stay non vtec. I will use the y8 mani. I already have the 450's from previous engine setup. I been searching but need more info please. Will the y7 head on the D15B2 gain anything? Is it a decent engine to boost? Im not looking to boost much. How much power could this engine handle with the setup i said? Ill also be using a Safc2. Any buddy that can help me with a decent set of safc2 number would be great.. Any other advice is nice to.. Also What head gasket to use for the D15B2 with the Y7 head? What timing belt?

thanks

Well with stock internals (assuming your using the stock rods/pistons), 6-10 lbs is the average for those motors. Judging by the parts you just listed that you will be using, it sounds like you have done your research and i commend you for that.

Im not 100% sure on the HG and belt to use for the swap, but i believe you get one for the block that is being used.

What turbo parts are you using?

I think its h/g for the block and t-belt for the cam gear (or head) you're using. If you plan to bore the block a cometic h/g would probably be better but if not stick to oem mls.

well i had a d16y7 setup.. but the motor seized up... but ill be using a custom mani i welded together.. with a wrx turbo and fmic with rfl bov and the dsm 450's.. i have a safc2 but id like to get some basic setting for this setup if possible? Is it worth boosting this motor with the setup i have said? The reason why is i really want my civic back for the summer.. not crazy power just something decent and this motor is for cheap and im suppose to pick it up tommorrow after work..

A question about the head studs.. Im not gonna go crazy with the boost, just 8psi.. How are the stock head studs? Should i get new ones? How many times can you reuse the d15 head studs? Next question is? which head studs do i use if im using the d15b2 1.5 with a y7 head?

I dont know much about either motor, but is there a point to that swap? I can see why someone would swap a Y8 or even Y5 head, but a Y7......If you have Y7 use it. If you have a B2, use it unless I am missing something

On to the turbo related items

It would be recommended by a lot of people to go with the ARP headstuds. When I turboed my Y5, I had headlift (which led to coolant leaking and overheating). I didnt know about headlift until after.

I also ran the S/V AFC hack and I would not recommend that either. There is not much room for tuning. There are so many other viable options out there. Even if you already own the AFC, you should sell it and get an ECU

Well the reason i say the y7 head is because im sure its better than the d15b2 stock head.. And the reason why im using it is because my y7 motor seized up about a few months ago and i really want to get my civic going untill i can get something else.. For the Safc2, i already have it and would like to use it.. i would like to eventually sell it for a chipped ecu..

If you cant do it right the first time, you really shouldnt do it at all. There is a difference between looking for deals and being cheap. I was a budget conscious turbo shopper my seond time around and built a great kit for $1300 and that included a laptop four tuning and some optional guages. However I wasnt cheap

Turbo isnt necessary to get your car running. It can be fun, but it can be costly.

You asked for advice and I am giving it. Do what you want with it.

thanks for the input but im not asking if i shouldnt do it.. and this is not my first time... i am not being cheap.. im just gonna take my time building a motor to handle what i want.. but i dont want my car sitting on the side till then.. so i was asking about what timing belt to use with the b2 block and y7 head? Is it what ever the head is? what head studs to use for the b2/y7 head? and about the safc2 because i already have it so why not use it untill i get something else later on? if you can help with any of that then thanks... and i know the saying mod cheap equals mod again but im just looking to get my car running and all i need is a block because i have everything else..
