Default Use b7 head or get a z6?

Ive noticed quite a few people just stick with thier b7 head for performance builds instead of going with a mini-me, I was wondering what the pros of using the b7 head would be. I searched for quite a while but noticed nothign really. I know the z6 and y8 head, especially with the y8 gasket, will bump comp up to around 11 right?? Well I plan on doing a small homemadeturbo setup so maybe stick witht he b7 for lower comp? Im learnin and searchin but I didnt really find anything on this.

Thanks a lot for yer help

Stick with the complete D15B7 and turbo it. BauleyCivic has done all of it. Even after everything, he says to boost the D15B7 and that's it. Get a D16Z6/D16Y8 trasnsmission and you'll be golden.

Appreciate the quick reply. Any reason besides lower comp to keep the b7? Better flow? Something???

Because you'll see MINIMAL gains with the amount of money you're going to throw at it by buying a Z6 head, headgasket, fluids, water pump, timing belt, etc...etc...etc...

Just piece together the turbo kit and be done with it.

BTW, just doing a Mini-Me doesn't give you very high compression unless you're going to run a 2-layer D16Y8 gasket. Other than that, compression ratio is par with running low boost.

Get with BauleyCivic, he has more info on Mini-Me and turboing the D15B7.
