Default d15 spark plug gap

can't find anywhere on the net, what the gap is supposed to be between for a j-spec d15.. ive asked a couple ppl, and ive only been told .038

any suggestions..

The gap on the NGK's I bought out of the package have been fine for my little d15b...

I think it's between .35 & .40 but I could be wrong.

usdm is .043 stay around there. the gap is not really important its more what octane gas you use that is important when having a j-spec engine because they use higher octane than the usdm engines.


some forget this and wonder why their engines blow up.

well theres no way in the states to get an exact octane level as in japan, the highest i believe is 91-92 and you will need atleast 95-98 octane if your running a jspec engine.

but with all that said there are some who will say it doesnt make any difference or anything and just use the highest.

unfortunately this may be what you will have to do. because it doesnt make sense to go to unocal and get race gas, or to buy octane boost at every gas fill.

so in the end the engine wont run as it should and the potential for problems may not be immediate but there will be problems down the line as the year pass, and how hard you drive the engine. these are all things one should consider when getting a jspec swap and to make it run without problems...

i run 91octane for my swap. the highest there is around here is 94, but its a bit outa my way for where i go on a day to day basis.

and the plugs i have are inalogy..
