d15 b vtec swap help
this may sound stupid but i want to know before i uy the engine.can a b15b single v swap into a regular d15 tranny. and if soo do i have to change the ecu or anything else

any d-series tranny would bolt on.
I would recommend getting a ex/si tranny.
Yes you would have to change the ecu if you have a non vtec
ecu. I suggest getting a p28 and chip it with a po8 basemap.

Ok....Missinformation all arround in this thread.
Your tranny is a direct bolt on to the D15B VTEC. I did this swap in my del sol. Easy as pie.
YOU DO however need to buy the correct ECU or the engine will NEVER run right. You'd have to chip the P28 and then have P08 maps put on it and even then it wont run right. You can get a P08 from Hmotors for cheap.
You can use your stock wiring harness and just wire up the VTEC and VTEC oil pressure sensor. It's easy as hell. Look at this thread and DO YOUR RESEARCH http://www.d-series.org/forums...32597
