Default D series Transmission

I'm new to this forum so what's up to all the honda freaks out there? I'm looking for a transmission for my 97 civic ex. It's a 5-speed and hydralic. If anyone know where in the southern cali area preferably the I.E. that I could find one it would be greatly appreciated. Also if anyone knows if I could rebuild it using SI gears that would be even better. Thanks for any help given

Just get another EX transmission and be done with it.

If you want custom gearing and a completely custom transmission, check out http://www.gear-speed.com

Browse the buy/sell/trade. You can't post, but you can browse. I'm sure you can find one for under $50 in just about any city with a poplulation above 40,000, anywhere in the US or Canada.

well i guess friday was my lucky day cuz i found a salvage yard in fontan, Dan's Import Wrecking, that had one out that was getting rebuilt. The best part, $350! I'll have it in my grubby lil hands on monday around 1p.m. I cant wait to get it in my car. it has really sucked the last yeaar driving with second and third gear getting worse and worse every day. Now it's at the point where second doesnt exsist and third I'm lucky to grab.

ouch.. 350 sure is alot.. but i guess after a year you wouldn't mind paying 350 for a trans.. i wouldn't pay more than 150 for a d trans rebuilt or not..

Doesn't a 92-95 Civic Ex/Si tranny bolt up to a 6th gen block??

But yeah, $350...does it come with a warranty? It would suck to find out that your new used tranny has a busted ISB (or mainshaft bearing) or one that is on its way out.
