D Series timing issues and questions
D15B8 Bottom End
16V DX Head
D16Y8 Head Gasket
96 S40 Dx Tranny
First - My timing is at -2 when my dizzy is set to full advance. Am i off a tooth on the timing belt? My cam gear seems to be at TDC and so is my crank. Is there any way i can check if it isnt, because i cant tell just by eyeballing it. will being off a tooth contribute to my timing problem?
Second - With this setup that i just threw on compared to my old setup, it seems that i am lacking torque in the low end. Everything seems to come on at 4K. Is timing the cause of this? Car feels a lot better on the high end though.
also, if i was to add a CRX SI cam, Ex exhaust manifold to get rid of the built in cat, and d16y8 IM would my car make a lot more power?
thanks

Re: D Series timing issues and questions (EGTeK)
When you do anything with your timing you sacrifice one thing for the other....so if you want low end torque you lose top end and visa versa......

Re: D Series timing issues and questions (DSeriesBKilla)
yeah thats cool but, my timing is set at -2.
i was referring to the 16v head and higher comp from the headgasket contributing to my lack of 2-3k rpm torque that i had before with the stock d15b8
