d series pistion? compression to octane usage question?
What are the best pistons to use for a n/a d16z6 motor to get the right compression for 91 octane. Im pumping 91 octane..and will be running on a stage 2 zex cam with i/h/e.

do a search, you have spade's D series post with tons of piston info which I and others have contributed to. it all depends on how much compression you are looking to get, that will determine which piston to choose. most likely youll want the p29/a1,zc, or something like a d16a6 piston. stay away from d15 non vtec pistons regardless of what people say, unless you like pistons sticking out of the bore.

I would think you would be fine with the a6 pistons and 91 octane. With the a1 pistons you would definantely need 93 though.

Yeah...I think I was the one who posted that and people listened to me...whoops
For 91 octane i'd recommend A6 pistons

Is 10.744 a good compression for 91 octane?

sure, just get some type of management for it. Your stock ecu is sendng out maps for a 9.2:1 setup...so you'll need to be tuned in a bit.
But it will be fine on 91
