D series Cam shift question...
hi..
im just wonderin can i put the cam from the d16a6 into d15b7 or d16z6 head with b15b7 bottom end....
pls everyone know this help me.,..

yeah, slowmanef did it on his car. search under his name and you will come up with the thread. Not sure if it would be under recent or archived, but I do know that it was in the EF civic/CRX forum.

88-91 sohc non-vtec cams from d16a6 work well with 92-5 (16v) d15b7
if you're running a vtec head then only upgrade is the d16y8 cam (slightly more aggressive), you can interchange vtec cams with non-vtec or vice-versa

As for the A6 cam:
88 cam can use stock cam gear from B7.
89-91 using stock B7 cam gear results in cam ~4.75 degrees off.
This results in terrible ignition timing. You have to slot the distributor a very lot.
So, buy an adjustable cam gear.
