D-series auto adjust engine timing?
i talked to a guy at car-x and he told me that my car has a automatic engine timing adjustment which is why the engine timing couldnt be the reason for my car not running good. i have a 92-95 D15b in a ek and still have no answer to why my car runs bad the motor is new with 20,XXX. if adjust the dizzy it doesnt even do anything it just runs like ****.

i just called him back and he said anything with fuel inj will have this? i didnt know this so any opinions...

the spark timing is computer controlled... and adjusted depending on incoming parameters to the ECU.
this guy sounds like a 'tard.. it's adjustable but you've got to jump the 2-pin connector under the dash to "bypass" the "automatic adjustment." then you can set ignition timing as usual.

so i cant manual set ignition timing unless i bypass the 2 pin connector under my dash? and this is why when i mess with the dizzy it doesnt do ****....

really, messing with the distributor should change the timing, just not correctly. without jumping the connector, you're not getting an accurate reading from the timing light because the ECU is trying to compensate.
