cylinder 1 misfiring on low idle
setup: b16a2 with jrsc with no boost in an em1
1-car has the bypass valve, on th jrsc, open to pass emissions. It is currently running the stock ecu, p2t, when its idleing cylinder 1 is misfiring but when driving normally it runs fine. Cel is on for the misfire.
2-also once the engine is warmed up and pushed a little, it'll start to fluctuate the rpm's, I've already replaced the IACV with a new one and since its a b16a2 it does not have a FITV.
should I replace the dizzy cap? Also I have no clue on problem 2? Any help is appreciated

Re: cylinder 1 misfiring on low idle
Start off by checking the plug and wire for Cyl 1 for spark. If spark is a good color and strong, check your Cyl 1 injector. If you have no/weak spark, replace the cap, rotor, and wires, and we can work from there.

Re: cylinder 1 misfiring on low idle
okay changed the dizzy cap and spark plug wires. I had the code cleared and I'm going to drive it around and see if the code comes back. Any ideas on the fluctuating idle?

Re: cylinder 1 misfiring on low idle
cel came back, checked the spark and its a strong spark. Now I'm thinking it might be a timing issue? Also anyone got a clue about the fluctuating idle?

Re: cylinder 1 misfiring on low idle
I was less concerned about leaks, and more concerned about if it's actually spraying. It isn't exactly common, but it isn't unheard of for an injector to either get stuck closed, or not get a signal from the ECU.

Re: cylinder 1 misfiring on low idle
i check the injector plug, and it is getting a signal from the ecu. ill try another injector when i get it. hopefully that is it. i think my fluctuating idle might be air in the cooling system. is anything else i should check for the fluctuating idle besides the IACV since thats new.
