Default CX Overheating...HELP

Before you flame me too bad, let it be known that I DID SEARCH and all the cases I found were different than mine.
92 cx 130k on the engine
d15b8
Car heats up like normal, then after running for a short period of time at normal operating temperature guage starts to climb slowly to hot. Found blown fan fuse at first replaced it still didnt fix the problem. Unplugged ECT sensor jumpped it and the fan kicked on, so I took the ECT sensor out of my 93 dx and put it in. Fan now seems to come as it should. If i run the heat all the time (blows out hot air as normal) car does not overheat, stays at normal operating temp. New thermostat and rad cap. Topped cooling system off. Both rad hoses are same temp at normal operating temp. The new engine was put it after head gasket was blown on last engine. I also noticed that some of the fins are basically falling apart on the front of the rad. Rad still holds coolant and pressure though. Im lost? Should I try a NEW ECT sensor?, replace the rad? Any help? Thanks

if the fins are falling apart from the radiator, then it's time to replace the radiator.

That is what happened when I didn't check, or replace mine.

What kind of thermostat is it? Even a new aftermarket thermostat can be faulty, which many are. My new one was faulty and I exchanged it for another one which seemed to work.

Try running the car w/ an open thermostat to see if you get the same results.

Overheating problems are a pain in the ***. And a majority of the time, the biggest problem ends up being the silliest thing.

My radiator looks pretty close to the one in the link above.Like I said though it still holds coolant and pressure, so could it still be the radiator? Also, im unsure of the name brand of the thermostat it was purchased at advanced auto though . As I said b4 though both rad hoses are hot to the touch when at normal operating temp and I get hot air out of the vents with heat on thats why I was kinda leaning away from thermostat. Could it still be a bad thermostat anyways? Thanks again

well im 90% sure from reading this thread its your rad. geta new one off ebay. They are like $110 shipped it arrived the next day. if both hoses are hot then the rad isnt gettin rid of enough heat which is due to the crappy condition its in.
