ctr tranny?

Default ctr tranny?

I was told i had a type r b16 tranny on my car from the previous owner, is there an indication to identify it externally to see if its actually true, because im in need of new clutch but not sure what tranny it is because it may also be a b16a tranny.....do both trannys use the same clutch?

what number is stamped on the case?

sorry for being a noob...what stamp,did you mean the engine code?its a b16a

not the engine code... there should be a black stamp on the tranny case... should start with a letter and end with a number. my b16a2 tranny is a S4... for an example. its on the top and faces you.... you might need to clean the tranny to see it.

no matter what b series transmission the clutch will be the same.

the clutch should be the same for all b series motors..

Not quite true. Early (1988-1991) cable B-series transmissions use a smaller input shaft spline. But if you stick with anything 1992 and later, they are all the same.

If you have a type r trans its either the b16b or b18c transmission. Does your transmission have and lsd?

92-00 B-series hydro clutch's are the same
