crazy *** short
I recently aquired a 93 civic si, it runs great and it is comfy. It was running in perfect condition until 2 days ago. I noticed that my temp gauge was not working so I decided to search the engine for any problems, I found an unconnected plug, the plug is close to the plug that is on the radiator hose where thermostat goes. The weird thing is bthat the plug was jumped. So I took off the jumper and pluged it in, it was fine the interior light was also not working so I put a fuse on it and it worked. I later installed a cd deck and it was fine also, it gets dark I go to my girls house and my battery light came one. I was like what? It was fine light where dimming but that's about it. All this happenned on sunday. Today I was coming to school and it was cold so I turned my heater on and I noticed the cluster, the speedo and tach where going crazy, then I turned it off fine. Turned on full blast and shut down completely, turned off fine, I was oh ****, changed lanes, the tach and speedo moving up and down according to the flashes, I pressed the break and the speedo and tach do go all the way down to 0 me going 70mph. So I get down to school, go and start it and boom a dead battery. I am pretty pissed, I just traded my ef that gave me noo problems for this? Please help before I go look for the trader and return his ****. Thanks in advance

Have you try another battery and see if it lasts? If you do and the next battery blows up also, negotiate with the original owner immediately before it gets too late.
It sounds like a ground problem. Your car may not be well grounded. My friend's b16 hatch wasn't grounded and his car wouldn't start, speedo fluctuates, battery light, etc.

Loose grounds will def do that, check all of them and make sure to check your thermostat grond, that harness may have been jumped for a reason. People do dumb **** to there cars. You might also just want to check your alternator while your in there, it couldn't hurt. Good Luck, Man.

Sorry can't help you with that one. Maybe the previous owner thought they could diagnos the problem your having bye jumping and checking for shorts, or continuity, and left that there after finding that actually helped. Sorry thats all I got right now. But like I said people do dumb **** to there cars.
