Crazy '99 Si
Got a 99 Si that's giving me fits. First, the check engine light went off and it was the IACV...no biggie, that happens in the Si. A week later, the CEL went off again and took it back to the honda place to have the map sensor checked out and the throttle body cleaned. Yesterday, after it had been running fine for a week, the CEL came on again and we got the code " P1259 Fuel Air Metering."
I was just wondering if there was anyone out there with either an Si or a B16A2 that's had this problem. Just as a sidenote, the car has a DC header, Greddy Evo2 exhaust, AEM CAI, Skunk2 Intake Manifold, and V-AFC II (with VTEC set at about 5000). The manifold was installed about 6 months ago and the V-AFC II about 3 months ago so I don't think that they are affecting the car but again, I have no idea as this is a problem that has just surfaced within the last three weeks. As always, any help is appriciated.

Might just be a fluke of problems all at once.
5 year old car.....depending on driving conditions, these could all have problems in this time frame.

I cant really help you but i think it might just be what Spade said and they are just fluke problems. How many miles are on the car? When was the last time you took it to get a check up? I would take to someone and see if they see anything really wrong with it. Not sure if that helps but i have pretty much the same mods as you and dont have any problems YET,(knock on wood). Good luck.

It doesn't sound (to me at least) that these problems would cause one another. Its been said already, and I'll say it again, it could just be a bunch of problems happening together.
My suggestion is that you change the engagement point for VTEC back to VERY CLOSE to stock. Unless you have lots of internal work done, it isn't doing you any good. (most likely more harm than good) Just because VTEC engauges sooner doesn't mean you're going to go faster and make more power. Your best bet would to return it to stock, +/- 100 RPM.
