Default Couple questions about after market foglights.

Bought a Depo fog light kit for my 98 Civic EX a few months ago off ebay. It ran great for a while, but I drove on a really bumpy road and it broke the bulb in the drivers side. A few weeks later the whole thing stopped working. Everything checks out, properly grounded, getting power all the way up to the relay(just bought a brand new one off ebay because I thought that was what was wrong with it).

I hooked the passenger side light straight up to my battery and it turned on, so I know the light works. I'm thinking it's the switch that's bad, it seems kind of cheap, and I saw a couple people that had problems with the switch. Anyone ever had that problem? And where can I get a new switch from that will fit my Depo kit?

Second question, since my drivers side bulb is out, I'm just going to go ahead and get a HID kit for them. I'm looking at getting the 35W 3k kit from DDM Tuning, will it fit in my Depo foglights?

Have you checked the fuse thats in between the battery and the relay? Also, when you press the button to turn them on, you should be able to hear the relay click on.

To answer your first question, I`ve heard a few people talking about the switch melting or shorting out. But you can go to the dealer and see if you can get an OEM switch, or find someone on here or ebay.

Yeah the fuse checked out, until I ended up blowing it trying to bypass the relay

Yeah I put it on tonight. Still no luck. I found a OEM switch on ebay, I'm going to double check the switch plug tomorrow to make sure it will fit.

Good choice. If all the wires are good as well as the fuse not being blown. Than it sounds like the switch. I would say, before you get the HID`s for them, get the cheap bulbs for them and make sure they work first.

Well I know the bulbs are H3, I'm just not sure how I'm going to wire up the HID kit itself. Since you usually plug the harness plugs into the ballasts, I'm not sure if my harness plugs will fit the ballast plugs.

I have another question, the brown plug that plugs into the under dash fuse box, which slot is it supposed to go in on the fuse box? Or does it even matter?

It matters, that plug powers the switch. Heres a link to a pic: http://s721.photobucket.com/albums/w...x_98_civic.gif

The plug should go into slot 3.

I just found this very helpful thread on foglights. (This should be stickied!) I think I might have my brown plug in the wrong slot in the fuse box. Looking at the diagram provided in this thread, I have the plug in the far left slot, while it says it should be in the second slot from the right. I will move it tomorrow and post results.

Turns out that was the problem. Moved the brown plug over a couple slots in the fuse box and they work great now. Now I just need to find out how to make some DDM tuning HID's fit in them.
