Re: Cost of Registering a car in CA question (Camry)
mine cost like 200 bucks all them damn back registration.
Take the papers to the DMV and have them look it up.
I've been raped by the DMV soooooo much. One time for a 2 month overdue registration it was like 80 bucks, the next time it was another 200 for a month overdue.
I hate the DMV

back is gray davis days. Believe me I was mad. When I was told that, I just left even after waiting in these damn SoCal DMVs. I was really pissed. The lady working there told me that they revised the past due penalties, cause I used the prior overdue situation as an example. Nonetheless pissed me off.
Oh yeah you might wanna make sure that your friend did or did not put it on NON-OP. Cause if he NON-OP'ed it, the fees would just be the normal registration fees. Still best bet is just to take it down to the DMV and have them look it up, if you get a really cool person, if it's high they'll 'investigate' and look for things they can delete. Oh and my 200 dollar one was after she did the deleting what she could.

i don't get it do ppl not know how to make an appointment?
also when i got to the booth, i needed to get a new registration for my car cuz someone jacked mine. the chick was all telling me my **** expires in 2 months so no point in paying 16 bux now and paying another $74 for registering...so she hooked me up and printed me out a registration....

well maybe you just got lucky, cause at the dmv i go to even with an appointment it sucks. Cause if you get a 2 oclock appointment, you don't get to the window at 2 oclock, like you said you just get a ticket. And here even with the ticket appointment, there are still 50 people in front of you.
