Default QUICK INSURANCE QUESTION PLEASE LOOK!!!!!!

okay this question doesnt have to do with dodge rams but with insurance on cars so i figured someoen mighttt help me... okay im 18 and i have a 02 quad cab dodge ram right now and im under my parents insurance but im the main driver it says i think.... im wondering if i get another car... lets say a 2 door honda civic for daily driver, what will my insurance be on that with just the insurance that covers the other parsons car (i think its called liability)? do i have to pay like another $200 or will it be like 1/2 of that or will it not even matter that i have another car?

Assuming the truck is under your parent's policy, if your Civic isn't put under that same policy, you won't receive any multi-car discounts.

If you put it under your own policy, under liability, under your own name, then it's going to cost you more than $200 (for the policy period). But your rate will depend on your location, driving history, age, car, etc.

Just a FYI: My Civic costs more to insure than my Lexus.

well being 18 your insurance will be high unless your parents are the main on the policy and they put you as a 2ndary driver.

Not to jack your thread or anything but.. which company offers auto insurance at good prices? Right now I have Farmer's Insurance and it's pretty damn expensive, especially since I just know got a Minor point that was from over a year ago.

To be honest, your post was a bit difficult to read. It would be better next time if you typed something thought out, as opposed to typing what you're thinking (phrases like "i think" and "let's say" hint at this).

Anyway, the cheapest way would be put it under your parent's policy. Even liability isn't cheap for someone your age.

Best advice: get your own insurance so it will go down eventually. You're never going to get anywhere in the financial world if you're always under mommy and daddy's wing.

Oh and I know for a fact that FL insurance is a lot more (unfortunately), but I'm 18 with a squeaky clean license and I'm paying 1400/6 months for full coverage in NY. I got a quote for a 92 hatch around here and it was 2200 just for liability.
