Default cost for a b16 swap

looking for average costs to do a b16 swap in a 92 hatch. can you post totals, and price by parts? i plan on doing something next summer when i take a week off from work, and i want to be able to use these next 6 months to save money to do something sick. i'll only be putting about $300 into the bank a month until february, then the additional 4 months i'll be putting about $700 into the bank. so i'm hoping to have about $2500-$3000 to use for the civic, unless something else dies on it. but i don't want to use all that money if i dont have to. i still have to buy a cherry picker again, and im looking for a beater 4x4 truck for a daily driver.

hmotorsonline has a complete sir II swap for 2250 plus shipping. it would be close to your full 3k but it would be a low mileage motor/trans combo that has a warranty.

http://hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc2000...age&item=30005

price may change, but ive been watching this for a while and am saving up myself for spring/summer time swap. only thing is the clutch/flywheel/axles would NEED to be replaced

yah that doesn't seem too bad. I'm also looking at a couple integras for sale in the area for under $1000.

I got a JDM B16 with LSD tranny for 2900 shipped to NY (hmotors is in cali) motor was very very very clean when i received it almost like they cleaned it before shipping and everything was in great shape like the mounts, axles, tranny.. only things ive replaced in the past 3 years since buying it have been the cam seal with a PW:JDM seal and the clutch which didnt need to be replaced but i wanted the extra grab of a Exedy Stage 1

overall i was very pleased with my purchase through hmotors - two thumbs up for them

oh and it would have been 2600 shipped if i didnt get the LSD tranny.. but i highly recommend the LSD upgrade

i would spend the cash on a b18c if i was you...yes b16's are nice and do have more power than any d-series...but you will have more torque and horsepower with a b18 over the b16...

he can always get the b16 first with lsd tranny.. then in the future he can upgrade to a poor man type R, ls vtec or b20 vtec build using the b16 tranny and b16 head.
