Coolent leaking somewhere?
Hi, I have a eg-b16a. For some reason my car keeps overheating like every month. Everytime I check the coolent, I always have to add coolent. So where am I losing the coolent? Could it be that I have a bad water pump? I would appreciate help on this.
Thanks

Re: Coolent leaking somewhere?
If you are not seeing any noticable leaking, then it is blowing past the head gasket, and you would need to have the head gasket replaced. I would recommend you have the head inspected also when you have it out. A water pump could only explain a very small about of coolant loss and that would be noticible on the back side of the blockalong the timing cover.

Maybe not the source, but I would check the hose clamp on the lower hose under the radiator that feeds to thermostat.. mine was loose the other day, and slowly but surely, water was leaking and i'd have spots all over the bay.. so, check ALL the hoses.. after running the car past mid-temp - pull over and look for squirts, leaks, etc..
I would use a good quality LED light, as it will help spot water better..
I personally think its a busted hose somewhere.. good luck
