Default Coolant Temp Sensor broken

I broke off the coolant temp sensor in the head. I tried to use one of those grabit bits or whatever it's called but it wouldn't spin it out. It would grap just wasn't strong enough to spin it out. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get this thing out?

I was told that the part I broke maybe the sensor that tells the guage cluster the temp and not the one the ECU reads. I honestly have no clue, here is the thread about what I broke. I'm just wondering if I'd be ok without this or what I need to do?
