You can dye the carpet by getting a LARGE trashcan from Lowes or Depot, filling it 1/2 way with water, and dumping in like 4 packages of black RIT dye...stir it up real well, then put the carpet in and let it sit for a few hours (or overnight like we did). TaDa! black carpet.
Tip: after you pull it out, spray it down with water (preferably at a car wash) several times to get the residual dye out.
Then let it dry and reinstall it.
Edit: You can do this to your seat covers too...but you have to take them off the seats to do it.

I was going to recommend SEM dye. Best I've found for vinyl and plastic.
edit: So what's the plan for getting black buttons/*****? (cruise, interior lights, etc - on the left side of the steering column)

cloth paint will typically ruin your clothes. it did to me. just wait until you sweat through your shirt in the summer time.

Re: (shivic)
I just did my back seat with this stuff heres how it turned out.
before
after
I just painted it to match my black interior conversion, so I wont be keeping it for too long once I get the money for an ITR backseat this will be gone.
