I think it has something to do with the refinement of the gasoline , also some gas companies put additives in their gas . For example Chevron puts Techron in their gasoline , supposedly it cleans your fuel system . The gas I have always used is Chevron or Ammaco PREMIUM baby . LOL I dunno the car just seems to idle better and run smoother and have better pick up on that gas then 87

They had something on the news a while back when the gas prices were outrageous. As far as I remember, Shell, Chevron, 76, and Arco all get their gas from the same plant, just the differences are the fuel additivies like you2envious said. But I think that addivitive can be the difference in performance. I would never buy gas from Rotten Robbie tho

All gas has to surpass the same requirements which are pretty damn good. But as far as additives go, I don't know how much it matters compared to adding a can of fuel injector cleaner every couple of tank fills.......

they have all kinds of **** in the gas in calif..i guess this is to keep the corn growers in midwest happy..most oil companies use similar process s to produce gas..the difference s is in the additives they put in them..as mention d earlier chev. puts in techron..and the others use a similar cleaning agent under a different name..though similar they have their differences..each additive clean the fuel system a little differently..so swith gas companies now and then and get the full benefits of these agents..the highest octane in calif is 91 and many of use with FI have to add a octane booster..damn ARB..
