common problems after 100K miles
I was just wondering what kind of problems you guys have gotten when your civics have reached over 100k miles on them so i know what to expect. I have a 98 civic so if you have had problems with that year of them please let me know. (water pump, timing belt, shocks, brakes, berrings, struts, ect) any and all problems you have encountered

Re: common problems after 100K miles (tgamer)
Not quite up to 100K miles, but around 90K now.
Common problems? My EG DX Coupé is still rocksolid. If you maintain it well, there shouldn't be a problem, provided you drive some long distance now and then to get your motor warmed up well.

I'm at 147,000 miles with not a single problem. Everything you noted is normal wear and tear and has to be replaced at some point. The car itself doesn't know it's mileage so it's not like it's just going to think to itself "I'm at 100k...I'm going **** the bed now". It all depends on how the car was driven and if normal maintenance was done to the car.

167,000 miles on my D16z6, and only problem was a thermostat. I consider that to fall under maintenance really. You want to change your timing belt after 90K if you don't it'll break shortly after.
