common driver side lower than pass side problem
ive searched and lots of threads about it but cant find 1 single explanation of main cause of this, car is ek4 and on stock ek9 springs/shocks, driver side front is about 1/4 inch lower than pass side
1) car has never been in accident and none of arms etc are bent
2) upper control arms replaced with new
3) tried other sets of springs/shocks but problem still there
4) lower shock bushes replaced
5) lower balljoints replaced
6) lower main arm buhes replaced (large hex shaped bushes)
7) tyres pressures same either side
i beleive problem is down to a component deteriorating over time but ive changed almost all most likely bushes etc except for shock top hat bushes as in pic below
has anyone ever found what cause was on theirs and feedback on whether its likely to be these bushes, do these have tendancy to fail ?
running out of ideas now and looking for input before i go buy set from honda and replace them all only to find problem still there

Yea I know what your talking about, it drove me nuts when i noticed this I also tried replacing may parts with no help. I ended up just buying a coilover suspension and adjusting it too "look" even. But i think it leans that way because the motor sits on that side and so does the driver so thats extra weight on that corner, will leave that side a little saggy, because they use the same spring rates on both fronts.

yeah, I currently have the same problem. There was a theory thrown around that it can be caused by tightening the rear lower control while the rear suspension is fully extended causes the rear bushings to hold a inherent torsion force, causing it to lift. releasing the torsion force is done by simply untightening the lower control arm bolts and re-tightening them while the suspension is under load.
Another thing I noticed the other day is that my e brake cables are biased to the driver side, so that whenever I pull it up, only the driver side rear brake is clamping. I'm goin gto fix this problem next to see if that can be a cause.

arent they adjustable though ?
most importantly do they come with their own new top hats or did you use your old oem top hats ?

Yes they are adjustable. And yes they came with pillowball top hats. I've turned both coilovers al the way down and the driver side is slammed and the passenger side still is higher.

yes that means you can correct yours by adjusting height on 1 side
thanks for reply though, if most common problem isnt top hats ive no idea what else could cause this now

Re: common driver side lower than pass side problem
back from the dead.... ok i am embarrassed to post this but back in the day when all i could afford was eibach springs I noticed that the pass. side was higher. to remedy the issue, i cut 3/4 coil off the top and evened it out. It road fine for years and now issues. I never road the car hard though during corning. I say just save up and get coilovers...
