Columbus, OH -- In search of help OPENING HOOD!
Hey guys, I was messing around with the latch under my hood on my '93 hatchback and I think I messed something up with the wire connecting the latch under the hood to the lever inside the car. I have done tons of research on the subject and tried a few different techniques over the last 2-3 days to get the hood open including:
Pulling the wire (inside car) with pliers
Flathead screwdriver in between hood and bumper
Im located near campus in Columbus off High and Chitenden. Any help is better than none!
Thanks

So what happened when you pulled the cable with the pliers? Does the cable move at all? Is there alot of slack, or calbe exposed inside the car?

Yes the cable has roughly 2-3 inches of slack now since I pulled on it, and now it wont pull any further. It pulled a little then just stopped as if it was stuck on something. I tryed putting roughly 20-25 pounds of pressure on it with the pliers and it wont budge. Any more and it seems like it would snap.

I think its still connected because the cable is tight when I try pulling on it from inside the car but Im not 100% sure. Is there any way I can pop the hood from the outside because if I could just get the hood open I could figure out the problem.

if i remember correctly, the latch which attaches to the cable is at the very front. If you are able to reach through the grill behind the rebar you may be able to flick the latch.
