I have a 97 civic and i was wondering what coil overs i should get? i kinda want to go with ones with pillow ball mounts so i dont have to buy camber kits. any suggestions.

^^x2, you dont need a camber kit or the pillow ball mounts,
all you need is a good alignment get the toe set at 0 or what ever oem is and your good, camber hardly wears tires at all.
but i would sugest, tein,skunk2, pic, function and form would be my number 1, they go very low and still ride great.

You're not asking the right questions, and you're basing your questions upon some very incorrect assumptions.

1. Whether the upper damper mount uses a spherical bearing or a rubber bushing, it has no effect on static wheel alignment in a double-wishbone suspension. These two things (camber setting and the upper mount material) have nothing to do with each other in an '88-00 Civic chassis.

2. Camber adjuster kits are only useful in an extremely small range of applications, and they often cause more problems than they alleviate. If you think you need to buy them to eliminate uneven tire wear (specifically, heavy inner shoulder wear in the front) after lowering the static ride height of your Civic, then you've been misinformed. A camber kit is not the best solution to that problem. A simple, inexpensive toe alignment will significantly reduce or completely eliminate uneven tire wear when properly executed, while retaining the desireable negative camber provided by the superb dynamic alignment curves of the double wishbone suspension. Negative camber is important to both cornering and tire/body clearance.

After moderating the suspension forum for quite some time, I'm still absolutely appalled at how many people have absolutely no desire to put even a minor amount of research toward learning the basics of the (admittedly complex) world of suspension and alignment tuning. At the expense of having to listen to hardparking photo show forum crybabies complain that I'm offending them, I have to say that too many people are interested in only the appearance aspect of a lowered car, and thus end up with a car that handles significantly worse and less predictably than stock suspension without even knowing it.

Before we can make any useful suggestions pertaining to your suspension needs, we first have to know your needs. What is your budget and what is the intended use of this car?

my budget is around 800 ish. i dont like to do things half *** so i would rather pay alil more and get something better than something thats crappy.

Targa250R summed it up pretty well.

not to mention you can search day and night, high and low. You won't find a suspension for your civic that uses pillowball mounts. Camber is not adjustable in that way.
