Ok so here is the deal. I have a 99 si basic mods i/h/e with a high flow cat. My check engine light was on becuse of this or so i thought. I did a search on how to turn it off by a mechanical fix with spark plug non foulers. When i lifted the car to do it two of the wires were disconnected due to someone extending them, but i fixed that. I reset the ecu thinking i was fine. Today while driving i was hauling *** and the light came back on, but this time it was a code p0133. O2 sensor slow response bank 1 sensor 1. I searched but no exact answer. Is it a coincidence that the first sensor went out now or does that have to do with the second one?

Has anyone has experience with this or has an idea?

This is for your secondary O2...the one behind the catalytic converter. Between the wires being extended and the quality of the job (assuming it was the rear that was extended) and you using a spark plug non-fouler, I can see why you might get this code.

bank 1 sensor 1 would be pre-cat in the header. if the rear sensor was not working right the ecu could have tried to compensate and ran lean and ruin the pre-cat sensor. but it the pre-cat wires havent been modified then you might need a sensor

wouldnt the rear sensor be called the secondary? and would be bank 1 sensor 2?

bank# sensor# is for cars with multiple sensors, V8/6, one or two on both sides

wait! isnt bank 1 sensor 1 the 1st sensor before the cat. converter? dont waste your money buying both sensors,make sure you replace the one that is bad.
