Did you reset your ecu and checked your oil, oil pick up, do you have an oil pressure gauge?

How do I check my oil pressure? and oil pickup?

I did an oil change after the code appeared to see if that would fix it.

For the oil pick up you need to pull the oil pan and youll see a small pan hanging. Inside there is a screen. Clean that out.

For the oil pressure youll need an oil pressure gauge.

Do you have a vtec pressure switch?. You can try tapping it into the vtec solenoid and see if it works.

yeah but VTEC hit with those dents, but then I hit the oil pan again (dip in a road i wasn't familiar with) and that's when it stopped working, I totally forgot but my friend who was in the car reminded me. I'm definitely starting to think its my oil pan.

I tried that and I got no code but still no VTEC. However I got code 22 again after doing this. Is it okay to do it this way?

Take the wire that is coming out of the ECU for VTEC pressure (C15) and cut it and splice it into VTEC Solenoid (A8)?

Like this (sorry for crappy Paint skills)

I have also read that the P72 has a VTEC Pressure Switch Ground on the ECU side as well. Can anyone confirm?

i bet its because of the dented oil pan, it made the oil pickup to close to the bottom of the pan or even touching not allowing the enough oil pressure to allow vtec to engage, just get a new pan and replace it only a 1 hour job

this is most likely your problem, I would get a new oil pan.

Leave the wiring for the solenoid and pressure switch seperate. I know the obd1 p72 pressure switch ground is at A26, but I don't know the pinout for obd2.
