Clutch pedal moving side to side, feels weird when driving
So my hatch is a theft recovery. It looks like they used a set of bolt cutters to try and snip the clutch pedal. The pedal is sheared about half way through then broken the rest. Looks like they snipped as much as they could, then kicked the **** out of it until it broke.
I replaced the entire clutch pedal (99') and after driving it for a while I noticed the clutch pedal moving side to side. At first I thought the rubber pad was falling off or something but then realized that the damn pedal moves. I reached under and tried tightening it. That prevented the pedal from moving side to side but then also prevented it from moving up or down because of the pressure.
So its either leave it slightly loose and driveable, or tighten it up and it cant travel back after its depressed.
Is there a chance that the thieves bent the clutch bracket? I've tried so many times to get it right but it always comes loose and starts wiggling. I've had 2-3 hondas before this one and dont remember the clutch pedal moving like that.
Any help? Thanks!
