Default Clutch case cover

Long story short when I was changing my oil today and I realized I do not have one. The car is a 1994 Honda Civic DX. Just a stock d15b7 in there. I had the Clutch/flywheel/etc replaced around 6 months ago. So I have apparently been driving around without one for the last 6 months and all winter.

1, 2, 3, 4

What should I do? Obviously I am going to find a replacement but it looks rusted out now in there, will it be okay if I just get a new cover and call it a day?

I am assuming I need #1 and the #16 bolts? Only problem is #16 is not available on Majestic. If I buy it I have no way to attach it? I realize I can go to the junk yard or something similar but I would rather just buy new/online if possible. Much easier for me.

Thanks for any help.

You don't have to buy that specific bolt. Just get anything that fits that hole. Not like it's a critical bolt. The top is held up by the oil pan bolts, and the other side by the bolt from a bracket that supports the block to the tranny... I wonder what else you're missing.

Additionally, you could probably make a cover just as easily. My first d series someone had cut off the top tabs for whatever reason and it was only held on by the side bolts...

My concern is more along the lines of that it has been open all winter and exposed to the elements. Would it have rusted regardless if there was a cover or not? I just don't want to have to buy a new clutch/flywheel etc due to them wearing faster than they normally do.

Good question, If possible I would inspect. But you should be ok considering what you're probably seeing is surface rust. You'll only need #1 and 2 #16. Junkyard would also have what you need.

"Don't worry about the mule going blind, just load the wagon."

Go to a junk yard, and buy the cover and bolts - cheap.

Anytime there is heat on metal there is rust. Surface rust.. There is nothing to worry about
