Default cluster question: simply replacing one guage

my question: could i pull ONE guage (lets say tach) out of an other honda/acura (lets say GS-R) and pop it into my own cluster? (92 VX)? will i be limited by size? or will the wiring not work? tell me.

I am not sure about swapping GSR guages into otehr Hondas...but I do know that you can take for example Civic EX tachs and swap them into other Civic's clusters...but model to model I am not sure of.

I had a 95 lx with no tach on the cluster that I swaped with a ex gauge cluster with a tach and everything bolted together perfectly. Their all prewired for tachs. Ive heard the same can be done with newer models as well. Its good for us, but honda just makes universal harnesses to cut costs. Reseach it further, but you should be able to swap the same year but higher trim level cluster.

The guages themselves can be swapped from same cluster to same cluster. They can not however be moved from different clusters of different cars. I have tried both including swaping a 97 speedo into a 92 civic cluster and the mounts are different. hope that helps.

i dont mind much about mounts i would grind em down, anything about the wiring? all i need is for a teg tach to sit flush in the hole from my civic's cluster and work. that would be sweet.

why not get a gauge from the same type of cluster and throw it in. or buy a whole new cluster and swap it out.

easiest way not to **** something up and get really pissed off at urself
