You could also have a leak in your line somewhere causing your proplem. Check all your lones and slave cylinder as well look for leakage around them both, check inside the car for the master if its leaking thats a tell tale sign its bad, otherwise they just dont go bad without some sort of sign like that.
Check for leaks and what not first, otherwise if it goes bad it just wont work it either wont let you push down or will go down and stay there aka no pedal at all. the no pedal could also be a sign of a leak and the stuck pedal could also be a collapsed line.

Well when my clutch MC started to have moisture buildup around the MC, it was time to replace it. I didn't want to wait for it to start leaking to replace it. Preventative Maintenance > Corrective maintenance

Wow...I don't have leakage, but my pedal comes back to the engagement point, then sticks for a moment, then comes up the rest of the way...what causes this...sorry to jack your thread, but we have similar problems.

That "sticking" is usually due to the release bearing piviot shaft needing to be cleaned and regreased. The sad part is the transmission must come out to get to it.

Wow, I just put the thing in and greased it not too long ago, about 3k ago to be precise. Oh well, the clutchmaster's started slipping on the dyno as well, so it has to come out anyway.
