Default Cluster problems!!! HELP ME

I just got a ek coupe and the first mod i was doing was the SI light shine through mod. which i have done many times before. I reassemble and put it in this morning and turn key on and the fuel gauge goes to empty and the temp parts was working fine. Took apart and looked at it reassembled and the fuel guage goes to full and the temp goes all the way to the top..
Any suggestions??????

This problem is common on EGs when the fuel/temp gauge has been removed from the cluster. When you tightened the gauges back onto the cluster, you likely broke the connection that is made for the temp/fuel gauge. It can be resoldered with skill and patience, but you're better off finding another gauge and CAREFULLY screwing it back into the cluster next time.

Just had this happen to me actually.

It's the screws in the back of the cluster, you put the short ones back where the long ones go. You'll see what I mean when you take it back apart.

I also couldn't figure out why my temp and fuel suddenly stopped working.

No, but I just did this last weekend. My SI cluster is over at my buddies house, so I can't look, but there's a few screws you had to remove out of the back. Well, the longer screws go in the back right where the fuel and temp gauges are, and the shorter ones go on the left. I had reversed them when I put it back together and I had the exact same thing happen, so I'm 99% sure this is your problem.

I even went so far as to try and swap the plastic off the back from my CTR cluster before I figured it out.

Sorry man, I don't have my SI cluster in front of me. And honestly, I was working on both my SI cluster, and my CTR cluster over the weekend... so maybe I'm thinking of the CTR one. They should be similar though.

Did you possibly break one of the connections on the back plastic?

After thinking about it some more, I'm pretty sure this happened to my CTR cluster. I took it out and apart, and I modded it to light up and "adjusted" the mileage.

Put it back in and the temp and gas weren't working. Me and my buddy went nuts trying to figure it out, and one of our other friends came over and realized right away what we had done. He backed out the screws, swapped them around, and presto... my cluster started working again. I even saw how 3 screws were longer than the others. Granted you showed me a pic of the screws, but I find it odd that you have the EXACT same symptoms after doing the same mod. I'll give my buddy a call and see if he remembers anything different.
