Cleaning heads etc
I've accumulated some z6 heads and it's time to start cleaning them. One of the heads is badly caked in oil and varnished. I don't feel like taking everything apart to get it hot tanked so I'm looking at other alternative methods. I don't mind the elbow grease

ya that should be fine, but after your done degreasing them, spray them down with some light oil or wd-40 so that no surface rust/oxidation appears

Re: (Cuong-nutz)
I went to Wal-Mart and picked up some Engine degreaser and Carb cleaner. Spent less than 9 dollars. I ran out of carb cleaner and needed more I cleaned up two of the 3 heads since the other one didn't need it. Of the two I cleaned, one was deeply varnished and I couldn't really do much with it. What could cause it?
Anyhow, here are the pictures:

Re: (Cuong-nutz)
not enough oil changes lol, but i would just leave it or take the rocker assembly off and let it soak in degreaser for a little bit, that should take most of the tarnish crap off along with a steel brush or something

OIL THEM NOW, they will rust in less than 24 hours, I know from experience unfortunately. Especially if you pressure washed them off at all, the moisture will own those rocker arms with a quickness.
