Default Civic wont start :( rapid clicks and gauges die out. Not the battery/starter

Hello all! i just picked up an 93 civic si that my buddy had laying around in his yard for the past year and a half. Originally all it needed was a radiator and front bumper and battery. I took my very good working battery out of my integra and put it in the car. My buddy cranked it over for a second the let it go. Cranked over fine. Then he went to do it again and low and behold (click click click, drrrrr) from both the starter and what sounds like a lil bit from the dash. The lights in the dash get a lil scerwy rapidly blink and if you hold down the "choke" they just die out. what happend?! i replaced the starter...did nothing. I checked for fuses under the dash. i found one that was blown, i am not positive what it was but it was 20 amps. Replaced it, NOTHING. I cleaned the cables for the battery, Cleaned the ground for on the thermo housing, the negtive cable, to the raditor support and to the tranny. NOTHING. Does anyone have any ideas? It does have an alarm, i am almost afraid to say that. But everything seems to be alright with it, i can click it and it deactives it i suppose. its a "shark" Please let me know if any of you have any input. You can pop start the car by the way. and it runs fine....???
