Default Civic swap

I originally had a jdm b16 in my 97 4dr civic,now i have a b20/vtec.

I bought the b20 vtec from a friend,it came in a car that he bought. It has in JE pistons and eagle rods but I dont know what compression ratio they are.It also has a b16 head with aftermarket valvesprings and cams with skunk2 cam gears.I know it was turbocharged when it was in the previous car.It is running on a P73 ecu.(jdm itr?)

what should I do?just run it the way it is and see what happens?or turbo it again and see what happens?

What would be the best thing?to turbo it the way it is or buy high compression pistons for it and some big cams and go N/A?

I also have an JDM ITR motoro that I need new main and conrod bearings for.Would just standard size acl or king bearings work?would I be better just using that as a stock motor?

personally i would go N/A cause im not a big fan of working on turbos, too much hassel but high compression pistons would more than liekly do the job. let me know how things work out.

Seeing how the motor was turboed previously, those pistons are most likely not high compression pistons. I vote go turbo.

i vote turbo... but to be on the safe side.. check for compression in each cyclinder making sure its a healthy motor...

If the engine was built for a turbo then I would boost it. If it was built for NA then go NA.

The questions you are asking really depends on the compression of the engine. If the builder used 9.1 pistons then its not going to make alot of power NA, so boosting it would be ideal. However, if they used 10 or even 11.1 pistons, then you could easily stay NA and make decent power.

This decision also depends on you. What do you want out of the car? Is it a daily? Do you have the experiene or the funds to effectively build a turbo setup?

Find out more about the engine, and post it up.

Its a b20b block, with 9 or 10 compression pistons and eagle rods.it has a itr head with valvesprings/retainers and cams.I dont know what brand of springs or what cams it has,but i know they arent stock.

yes the car is a daily, and i go to the quarter almost every weekend..
