Default civic questions

Just wondering when your maintaince required light comes on.
What do the dealership do for tuneup. i know a basic tune up is
change of:
spark plugs, wires, distributor car, and that thingi inside.

So if you do the above the light would go away.
P.S. how often is the maintaince required.

sorry i used the search function but i had no luck.

Well I have a 2000 Civic Ex , The maintance light in the dashboard is nothing more than just an indicator for changing oil . Thats what I have been told by my Honda dealership . You go in get your oil changed and they reset the light . I guess some people out there don't pay that much attention to the number of miles they rack on their oil . I do know that at 15 thousand you have your autofluid changed and at 30 is your first major service . It includes oil change , AT fluid change , valve adjustment , tire rotation etc etc etc .

That maintanence required light turns red every 7500 miles. It just lets you know when to get an oil change and tire rotation.
