Default Civic harness ?

I bought a 2000 si from auction that was totaled but the motor and tranny are still good and I'm going to put it in my 98 hatch can I use the si engine harness in the 98 hatch???

No you can't the SI is OBD2B and your car is OBD2A, the plugs that plug into th ECU are different.

you have to use the computer from the engine not the car. You'll either have to rewire a bunch of wires or buy an adapter harness if they make one for your swap?

Use the ecu and harness from the si. If the si is mostly complete it will have everything you need.

You can't use the engine harness by itself, you'll need to swap over all the interior harness as well. It's much easier to just modify the original civic harness.

or just get an OBD2A to OBD2B conversion harness and wire the necessary wires to the ecu

Doesn't work, that's not the issue. If you try to run an OBD2B engine harness with an OBD2A cabin harness you will not have a working tach or speedometer.

^^no i meant the jumper harness for the ecu

just like an obd2a harness to obd1
