Civic build on very small budget

Civic build on very small budget
I have found a civic ex auto in decent shape for $600. It has 184k miles on it. I'm looking to build a fast car for cheap that I can drive during the winter months. (Have a TT Stealth for when the weather is nice)
So My budget would likely being around 1500 after buying the car obviously I would have to swap something in so
1-how much could I get for the engine/trans that's in it
2-what would the best engine/trans for it for my budget
3-if I have any left after the swap then what to buy
I would like it to be a manual if that matters

1:you'll have to auto to manual it first which will eat up at least 300$
2:B20V you're not getting a FULL gsr swap for 1.5K
3:you won't....
keep saving these car's become money pits real fast 1.5 you van get a full b20 swap and probably have enough to get a b16/b18 head but you'll have to budget around the whole auto to manual parts first. And to be honest if you're asking this stuff auto to manual is above you....swap's are easy

Re: Civic build on very small budget
I don't see a lot of Stealth's or even Mitsubishi 2000 GT's on the road today. I remember when they were numerous back in like 1998 thru 2003, but they almost are a dying breed. Still see s lot of old Honda's on the road tho. One of mine is 25 years old and 280,000 miles still counting daily.
Honda makes a reliable car, like the Civic. When you start fiddling with things, you can make it less than reliable. In fact, it can become so unreliable that it is the equivalent of lower makes like Ford, GMC, Chrysler, Chevy, etc.
Fast, Reliable, Cheap.
^Pick any 2, not all 3.

If the drive train in those is anything like the evo/eclipse then that is the reason you don't see many.

those stealths are sooo heavyyy, like driving a land yacht.
and your motor and auto trans arent worth much with that mileage.
